「What’s Kintsukuroi?」

Japanese people repaired broken pottery with Japanese lacquer which is usually mixed with gold, silver and etc..

The scar has been understood as “Keshiki” which is considered more beautiful and valued.

This traditional techniques and method…s is called “Kintsukuroi” or “Kintsugi”, which has been inherited as a part of unique culture in our long history.

I personally prefer to take a traditional way of repairing which is to take time adjusting the temperature and humidity appropriately.

Meanwhile, our feelings of tenderness, admiration and love towards them would grow.

In addition, not only each pottery but also each broken piece is also different and so unique on its own.

By taking them in our hands, observing well and finding their individuality, I wish I could add some modern flavour into “Keshiki” over the conventional tradition.

I wish you would discover the joy that that pottery is still usuable after being reborn as a new.

So, if you happen to or break your valuable pottery by any mistakes, never give them up and please put the fragment aside before you abandon them. Thank you…
